A Musical Concert In Aid Of
The Motor Neurone Disease Association
 
Our first "Six Go Singing" concert was performed at the Roade Village Hall on Sunday 23rd September 2007.
 
We managed to raise a fantastic £800 for the MND Association!
 
So, here's a huge thank you from all of us to all of you who made that possible...

Meet The Singers
 
Our six singers were...
 
Louise Lucas
 
Louise was born in Roade and has been performing on the stage from an early age.
 
At 5 years old, she began attending the Molly Mayhew School Of Dance, where she had her first stage experience as Little Boy Blue.
 
Louise’s favourite roles since then include playing Audrey in Little Shop Of Horrors, Adelaide Adams in Calamity Jane, Prince Charming in Cinderella and taking the title role in the musical Sugar.  She has also danced in the musicals Anything Goes, Barnum, Half A Sixpence, Pippin and The Boyfriend.
 
Lorna Wood
 
Lorna was born in Roade and was soon bitten by the performing bug very hard.
 
She has 12 shows under her belt with the Spears Drama Group, several Principle Boy roles for Wellingborough Pantomime Society, attended an Acting For Camera course with The Actor’s Space in Barcelona and 3 Noda Summer Schools - including The Witches Of Eastwick.
 
She lists her favourite roles to date as Miranda in Return To The Forbidden Planet and Young Viv in Spend, Spend, Spend.  Lorna is currently rehearsing the role of Miss Dorothy in Thoroughly Modern Millie.
 
Sue Boss
 
Sue has been interested in all aspects of theatre from a very young age.
 
She began dancing with the Maureen Palmer School of Dance and singing with the Northampton Junior Philharmonic Choir.  She then performed for many years with the Spears Drama Group, Hardingstone Players and Christchurch Players.
 
Sue has gained parts in many productions including Our Day Out at The Royal Theatre and Guys & Dolls at The Castle.
 
Jay Lucas
 
Jay was born in Northampton and trained in all aspects of theatre at Tresham College, Kettering.
 
He had his first stage performance at the tender age of 5, when he appeared as a wizard in pantomime.  Since then he has performed in musicals, plays and pantomimes, locally and throughout the UK.
 
Notable performances to date include Seymour in Little Shop Of Horrors, Billy Lawler in 42nd Street and Will Parker in Oklahoma (twice). His alter ego Jayjay can regularly be seen singing in pubs, clubs and venues around the region.
